The James P. Nix Center, located at One Bayou Drive near downtown Fairhope, serves as the City of Fairhope Senior Activity Center and as a rental facility for family reunions, wedding receptions, business gatherings and much more. The Main Ballroom, with its beautiful chandeliers, ornate mirrors and floor to ceiling windows, make it the perfect location for any special event for small or large crowds.
Tables and chairs are provided and set up to renter’s specifications. Outside catering and vendors are always welcome, so long as they provide a copy of their Business License and Health Department Permit. A few of the other amenities offered at the Nix Center:

- Piano (rental fee)
The Ballroom is the Nix Center’s largest rental room, over 5000 square feet of space which will accommodate gatherings of up to 250 banquet style and 500 people auditorium style. This room is most often used for weddings, wedding receptions and anniversary parties.
The Doris Chennell card room may also be rented for smaller functions. This room is most often used for meetings, seminars, and small celebrations. It is set with 4 top tables and leather rolling chairs. The tables and chairs cannot be moved within or from this room.
* An hourly rate of $20.00 per hour will be charged for each consecutive hour of use after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends (maximum 8 hours) from the time the first person arrives until the time the last person leaves. Hours beyond the agreed upon time frame and all hours on recognized City holidays will have a $50.00 hourly rate.
