Public Works Recycling & Trash Drop-Off Center

Location: 555 South Section Street

Hours:

• Monday–Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

• Saturday: 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Must have a valid City of Fairhope sticker to use this service.

Weekly Collection Schedule

• Garbage: Collected twice a week

• Trash: Collected once a week

• Recycling: Collected once a week

• Start Time: Collection begins as early as 1:00 a.m.

Place carts at the curb or alley pick-up point the night before your scheduled collection day.

Cart Placement & Guidelines

To ensure timely and efficient service:

• Place carts within 5 feet of the curb or street

• Handles must face away from the street

• Do not leave carts at the curb more than 24 hours in advance

• Return carts promptly after pickup to maintain neighborhood appearance

Important Cart Rules

• Carts are City-issued property — residents are responsible for any damage or theft.

• Only City-issued carts will be collected.

• All garbage must be bagged and fully contained within the cart.

Acceptable Garbage Includes:

Household waste (food, non-recyclable materials), animal waste (bagged), and empty chemical/gardening containers.

Do NOT Place in Garbage Carts:

Small electronics (please take to the Recycling Center), bio-hazardous waste (e.g., hypodermic needles) →

Special Services

Service on Private Roads:

Garbage, trash, and recycling collection may be arranged for private roads if:

• Roads are wide enough and maintained for safe truck access

• Service may be denied if conditions or vegetation become problematic.
