Honoring local veterans whose service to our nation continues through leadership, volunteerism, mentorship, and dedication to the Fairhope community.
About the Award
Each fall, the City of Fairhope proudly opens nominations for its annual Veteran of the Year Award, recognizing a local veteran whose service to our country is matched by an unwavering commitment to serving the Fairhope community.
This award honors a living veteran who has demonstrated exceptional patriotism, leadership, and a continued dedication to making a positive impact through volunteerism, civic involvement, mentorship, or other acts of community service.
Each year, nominations are reviewed by a committee made up of previous Fairhope Veteran of the Year recipients. These distinguished veterans carefully evaluate each nomination and select the individual who best represents the values of service, leadership, and community.
The recipient is announced during the final Fairhope City Council meeting in October and is honored as the Grand Marshal of the City of Fairhope Veterans Day Parade in November.
