FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA - The City of Fairhope is pleased to announce the promotion of John Thomas to Public Works Director.

Thomas has served the City of Fairhope for over 6 years and most recently held the role of Assistant Public Works Director. Throughout his time with the city, he has played an important role in supporting daily operations, infrastructure improvements, and community projects that help keep Fairhope running smoothly and beautifully.

“John’s experience, work ethic, and commitment to Fairhope make him a natural fit for this role,” said Mayor Sherry Sullivan. “We are excited to see him continue leading the Public Works Department and serving our residents.”
As Public Works Director, Thomas will oversee the City’s sanitation services, streets and roads, drainage infrastructure, fleet maintenance, horticulture operations, and other essential public works services that help keep Fairhope safe, beautiful, and running efficiently.

“I’m honored for the opportunity to serve the City of Fairhope in this new role,” said Thomas. “This community means a great deal to me, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside our incredible Public Works team to serve the residents of Fairhope every day.”
