Fairhope releases K-1 survey for residents
The City of Fairhope has released a resident survey pertaining to the future of the Fairhope K-1 Center site.
“We had a great meeting at the beginning of the month, but this process has always been intended to be a series of public discussions and opportunities for input,” said Mayor Karin Wilson. “By filling out the survey, all citizens have a chance to give us valuable input as we continue to evaluate the future of the site.”
This is the next step in a collaborative series that began on April 3rd with a community roundtable discussion. Citizens are now asked to weigh in with their preferences for the site by completing the survey.
The purchase of the K-1 site, an iconic part of the history and appearance of the City’s downtown area, is expected to be final later this year.
“By offering your ideas, it helps us better visualize the potential uses of the property,” Wilson said. “We are committed to public participation and making sure all citizens’ voices are heard. More details about future public discussions will be available soon.”
Citizens are also encouraged to visit the Fairhope Public Library to see a graphic illustration of the April 3rd meeting results. Conceived by a graphic facilitator, the illustration displays some of the most vital pieces of information heard in that meeting. A suggestion box is included with the display, and residents are invited to leave their comments there as well.
