The City of Fairhope Municipal Court is offering two (2) separate Amnesty Court opportunities on December 12th & 19th. Amnesty Court is an opportunity for defendants who have missed court and have Failure to Appear Warrants (FTA’s) to have those warrants recalled without being booked into jail or posting a bond. Defendants who have warrants for failing to pay may make payments or pay off balances owed to close out their cases, and Defendants who need probation reviews will receive new court dates. Fairhope’s Municipal Judge, Haymes Snedeker, is hoping that people will take advantage of this opportunity to make a fresh start and settle their old court cases.
It is important to note that only those individuals who have outstanding warrants for failing to pay fines or failing to attend court are eligible for this program. Any eligible individual with a warrant that comes into contact with law enforcement prior to taking advantage of this amnesty program is subject to immediate arrest.
Fairhope’s Amnesty Court will be held on Dec. 12th from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and on Dec. 19th from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Fairhope Municipal Complex located at 161 N. Section Street in downtown Fairhope. If you would like to hear more about Amnesty Court you may call the Information line at 251-279-6230.
